I don't think it's about not fitting the narrative. Even though it is about a woman's choice, it's the man she is living off. While I don't condone the parasitic part of it, the entire ball is in a man's court who pays the bills and supports the woman. Don't you think it's unfair for a man to provide for the woman when she is equally capable and privileged to earn for herself? How is this different that oppression?

Also, since I am majorly writing from an Asian perspective, in my country, a few men don't allow their girlfriends or wives to work. For them, their partners only duty is to clean, cook and birth kids. But, I don't expect you to understand this as it is a cultural difference and a perspective of someone who has seen it happen.
